Fishermen’s Bastion

Fishermen’s Bastion Budapest
Built on medieval foundations. Fishermen’s Bastion is a series stairways and corridors between two corner bastions which connect Hunyadi Janos street with Trinity Square (Szentharomsag ter).

The open galleries are supported by columns and there are parapetted terraces at the top. The edifice was constructed between 1895 and 1902 to design by Frigyes Schulek. Seriously damaged during the Word War II (WWII), Fishermen’s Bastion was restored 1954 by Laszlo Boros.

Matthias Church Budapest

In the Budapest Castle on the east side of the Trinity Square (Szentharomsag ter) rises the magnificent bulk of Matthias Church. Dating back to the early Middle Ages, it was rebuild at the end of the 19 Th. century.

A walk around the exterior and the visit inside, including the Treasury downstairs are not to be missed. Matthias Church was the coronation church of the kings of Hungary and it also contains the remains of King Bela III and Ferench Queen, Anne of Chatillon, whose sarcophagi can be seen in a side chapel on the north side.

Ferenc Puskas Hungarian Football Legend

Ferenc Puskas Hungarian Football Legend has died and makes Final Journey on Saturday 9 of December.

Ferenc Puskas died on 2006 November 17 aged 79 of cardiovascular.
Puskas was the best-known Hungarian of the 20th century’.
He was considered one of the best football players of all time, scoring more than 600 career goals between 1943 and 1966. Puskas has scored a remarkable 83 goals in 84 international matches for Hungary between 1945 and 1956.

The President of Hungary Laszlo Solyom was the first to lay a wreath at the foot of Ferenc Puskas’ coffin, as a guard of honor stood by beneath the Saint Stephen’s Basilica’s grand dome in Budapest.

Ferenc Puskas was called the most famous Hungarian man and “Ocsi” or “Little Brother,” or “Galloping Major” and “Booming Cannon”.
He won three European Cup titles with Real Madrid.
