Matthias Church Budapest

In the Budapest Castle on the east side of the Trinity Square (Szentharomsag ter) rises the magnificent bulk of Matthias Church. Dating back to the early Middle Ages, it was rebuild at the end of the 19 Th. century.
A walk around the exterior and the visit inside, including the Treasury downstairs are not to be missed. Matthias Church was the coronation church of the kings of Hungary and it also contains the remains of King Bela III and Ferench Queen, Anne of Chatillon, whose sarcophagi can be seen in a side chapel on the north side.
